Job description:

The Off-Shift Maintenance Supervisor leads maintenance operations during off-shift hours, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities. This role oversees preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, and contractor work while supporting continuous improvement and EHS initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise preventative maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns
  • Direct maintenance of production equipment and building systems
  • Coordinate work with engineering, maintenance teams, and outside contractors
  • Lead, train, and develop maintenance employees; manage scheduling, overtime, and timekeeping
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and maintain disciplinary documentation
  • Ensure compliance with EHS standards, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Serve as liaison between management and union representatives, including grievance handling
  • Review operating reports, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience supervising maintenance/skilled trades teams
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Experience with TPM, Synchronous Mfg, and Kaizen Concepts.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, have good team building skills, excellent people skills; ability to handle multiple tasks, technically oriented.
  • Must be energetic and a self-starter, able to promote and implement change, have good PC skills, good telephone skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to promote a continuous improvement atmosphere.
